Introducing BMW 3 Series High-Line special edition - unrivalled standard specifications

BMW’s 3 Series Sedan and Touring models are set to receive an impressive specification boost with the introduction of new special edition High-Line models.

Outstanding additional equipment now standard on the BMW 3 Series High-Line models includes a BMW Line for style and panache, and the popular Innovations Package for comfort, convenience and safety – all at no extra cost.

BMW Lines include the Sport, Modern or Luxury Lines and offer the new owner a stylish choice of wheels, mouldings and finishes to highlight the exterior of the vehicle.  The BMW Lines offer even more design choices inside, with high-grade leather upholstery, sports seats, interior trim and a sport leather steering wheel.

But perhaps the best news for aspiring BMW owners is the addition of the Innovations Package – one of BMW’s most popular option packs ever – as standard on the BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring High-Line models.  These features include a host of safety- and convenience-related equipment, including:

  • BMW Head-Up display
  • Surround view including top view and side view cameras
  • Parking Assistant
  • Driving Assistant
  • Lane Change Warning System
  • Comfort Access System
  • Front Park Distance Control for 316i sedan and 318d sedan and touring
  • Rear View Camera (already standard on 320i and 328i Touring models)
  • Exterior mirrors with anti-dazzle function (already standard on 328i models and above)
  • Instrument cluster with extended contents (already standard on 328i models and above)

The increased specifications are applicable to all variants in the BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring line-up, including the 316i, the 320i, the 320d, the 328i, the 335i and the ActiveHybrid 3 Sedans and the 318d, 320i and 328i Touring models.

In addition, the 3 Series 328i High-Line receives bi-xenon headlights and all variants receive discounts for the M Sport Package.  In fact, in the BMW 3 Series 335i and ActiveHybrid 3 models, the M Sport Package is reduced to a no cost option.

The additions to the specifications of the High-Line models represent an increase of more than $6,000 over the standard BMW 3 Series variants, making the BMW 3 Series High-Line Sedan and Touring the most elegant, most dynamic – and most value-rich – prestige vehicles on the market today.

The BMW Head-Up Display projects high-resolution driving information in full colour directly into the driver’s field of vision. Displaying information such as current speed, navigation directions and important warnings, the BMW Head-Up Display reduces fatigue and increases safety for the occupants of the vehicle.

The Surround View feature incorporates Top-, Side- and Rear-View Cameras to provide an unparalleled view of the area directly around the vehicle when manoeuvring. The vehicle is represented as seen from above on the Control Display to enhance awareness of surrounds and visibility of obstacles close to the vehicle. Side View enhances visibility when joining a road from a side street or exit.

The Parking Assistant system makes parallel parking easier. When travelling at speeds below 35km/h, the system can measure any parking gaps the vehicle passes. When a suitable gap has been found, the Parking Assistant will steer the vehicle while the driver continues to operate the accelerator and brake pedals, supported by acoustic signals and instructions in the Control Display.

Driving Assistant combines the camera-based systems of lane departure warning and collision warning:

  • From a speed of approx. 70km/h, the lane departure warning system draws the driver’s attention to an unintentional lane change by means of vibrations in the steering wheel and a visual signal in the instrument cluster.
  • Collision warning detects cars in front of the driver and warns of a possible collision with a vehicle ahead at speeds of approximately 15 km/h or higher. The brakes are also prepared for faster response and shorter braking distances. The system includes person recognition/approach control warning with City light-braking function.

The Lane Change Warning system is triggered when the driver has activated the indicator to signal their intent to change lanes. The system detects vehicles in the driver’s blind spot, as well as vehicles approaching at speed in the adjacent lane, and alerts the driver by vibrations through the steering wheel and a visual warning on the exterior mirror. The lane change warning system is activated at speeds of over 50km/h.

The Comfort Access System enables keyless vehicle access via the driver’s door, front passenger door and luggage compartment lid. This feature includes vicinity lighting integrated into the front and rear exterior door handles and hands-free opening of the tailgate via a deliberate foot movement under the rear bumper.

Front park distance, rear view camera, exterior mirrors with anti-dazzle function and an instrument cluster with extended contents are also now standard on BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring High-Line variants where they are not already fitted as standard features on the original model.
